Hope is a big word. It's a word and a concept that I am thankful that God introduced us to. I am a big dreamer, and I am often hoping for something, wait, I am ALWAYS hoping for something. Sometimes it's something of great consequence, and at other times I am selfishly hoping for things like all of the traffic lights to be green for me, so I'm not as late to work as I would be otherwise. Regardless of what it is that I am hoping for, it is something that is always there.
Tonight, I read a little card that a friend had lovingly prepared for me, and mailed from California. The only thing printed on the card was Isaiah 40:31, and read: "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." After I read this, I thought, of all of my hoping and dreaming, how much of that energy is spent on hoping in the Lord, and do I even know what that means? Man, am I thankful to have a VERY patient heavenly Father who is willing to be near me even as I figure out what this hope thing He gave us is really all about.
Love ya,
Holly
